Atelier Resleriana: Global EOS Announcement for Forgotten Alchemy and Polar Night Liberator

It's a sad day for fans of mobile RPGs as Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator has announced its end-of-service (EOS) for the global version. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have confirmed that this engaging RPG will soon be shutting down. Launched globally in January 2024, the game struggled to gain traction, leading to this unfortunate decision.

However, it's not all doom and gloom for Atelier Resleriana fans. The Japanese version, which debuted in September 2023, continues to thrive and is set to celebrate its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025. This stark contrast highlights the different fates of the game across regions.

When Is the Atelier Resleriana EOS?

The irony couldn't be more palpable. As the Japanese version gears up for its 1.5th anniversary celebration, the global version is set to shut down on the very same month, March 28th, 2025. While Japanese players will be enjoying Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will be concluding their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1).

The in-game purchase system for the global version has already been disabled. However, players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems until the final day. Koei Tecmo has committed to providing new content and events right up until the shutdown, ensuring players can enjoy their last moments with the game.

Adding to the irony, the global version had just celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th, making the EOS announcement a bitter pill to swallow.

Why Is It Shutting Down?

The developers have cited their inability to maintain a satisfactory standard for the players as the reason for the shutdown. Indeed, Atelier Resleriana struggled to make an impact among its global audience. Just a couple of months post-launch, players began voicing concerns about the gacha system, which, despite featuring fantastic main characters, was overshadowed by subpar gameplay and aggressive monetization.
