Understanding the "Base Hit to Right Field" Bug

Even before the official launch, players reported a curious commentary anomaly. Regardless of where a batted ball actually lands—left field, center field, even a home run—commentator Boog Sciambi consistently announces, "Swing and a ground ball. Base hit to right field." This discrepancy is understandably confusing, especially during crucial gameplay moments. The mismatch between on-screen action and commentary can lead to poor in-game decisions, as players might misjudge the situation based on the inaccurate call.

The simplest solution is to mute the commentary. Navigate to the game's settings and lower the "Commentary Volume" slider to zero. While this eliminates the inaccurate calls, it also removes the atmospheric sounds and other audio cues that enhance immersion.

Looking Ahead

San Diego Studio hasn't yet officially acknowledged or addressed this bug. Given it's early days in MLB The Show 25's lifecycle, a permanent fix is likely forthcoming. Until then, muting the commentary offers a temporary workaround.
