Survival of the Fittest is arguably Phasmophobia's most difficult challenge yet. The challenge strips away most of your usual tools, forcing you to rely on instinct and observation to identify the ghost.
This challenge takes place at 42 Edgefield Road, a claustrophobic house map that further complicates ghost hunting. Its narrow corridors and blind corners make tracking and evasion significantly harder.
Remember these crucial limitations: You won't have access to traditional evidence-gathering tools. Your equipment loadout is severely restricted, lacking items like the Ghost Writing Book, DOTs Projector, and even Video Cameras.

You start with zero sanity, making you instantly vulnerable to hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, despite the (sarcastically) provided Sanity Medications. Prepare for a high-pressure investigation.
Ghost activity remains high, with frequent events. While evidence gathering is difficult, this high activity aids identification. The ghost's favorite room remains constant.
Most doors begin ajar, hindering location detection. However, the fuse box is functional and starts on. All nine hiding spots in 42 Edgefield Road are available.
Your only Cursed Possession is the Monkey Paw. Wishing for knowledge eliminates incorrect evidence and ghost types from your Journal, but triggers a blinding, deafening Cursed Hunt near you. This is riskier solo, but can be strategically used in a team.
Challenge Mode is accessed via the Difficulty Settings in the Main Menu. Select Singleplayer or Multiplayer, then navigate to the Difficulty tab. Choose Challenge Mode and apply.
