CD Projekt Red, the team behind Cyberpunk 2077, isn’t finished with the game yet, as a new update is slated for release later this month. Dive into the details of what the studio has planned and whether this will truly be the final patch.

Cyberpunk 2077 Team Continues Development

Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26

CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a new update soon. During the June 5 REDstreams event, the developers revealed that Patch 2.3 is set to launch later this month.

As part of the celebrations for Cyberpunk 2077’s release on the Switch 2, CDPR confirmed that Patch 2.3 will drop on June 26, with more details to be shared in an upcoming livestream.

Marcin Momot, CDPR’s Global Community Director, echoed this announcement on Twitter (X) on June 5, urging fans to stay tuned for further updates. Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko retweeted the post on June 6, hinting that the team has been quietly working on this update and will share more when ready.

Is This Truly the Final Patch?

Cyberpunk 2077 is Getting Another Final

CDPR has called several updates “final” in the past, but this upcoming patch might actually mark the end, as the studio shifts its focus to Cyberpunk 2. During the recent REDstreams, the developers playfully noted that their previous “last” update wasn’t quite the end.

Initially, CDPR labeled Patch 2.1 as the game’s “last big update,” released alongside the Ultimate Edition in December 2023. Then, in December 2024, Patch 2.2 arrived with support from Virtuos, introducing new customization features. Many fans assumed this was the true final update, given the game’s debut in December 2020.

This pattern of extended support isn’t new for CDPR. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt followed a similar path, with the studio claiming the December 2022 Patch 4.0 next-gen update was its last, only to release Patch 4.04 in July 2023.

More recently, CDPR announced that The Witcher 3 will receive its definitive final update later this year. On May 30, in honor of the game’s 10th anniversary, CDPR shared on Twitter (X) that the upcoming patch will introduce cross-platform mod support, enabling players to share mods across a unified ecosystem.

Cyberpunk 2077 is Getting Another Final

With Cyberpunk 2 now in pre-production and The Witcher 4 showcased in a recent tech demo, it seems likely that these patches will be the last for their respective predecessors. For now, Cyberpunk 2077 fans can enjoy the game on Nintendo’s latest handheld console.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is available on Switch 2 as of June 5, 2025, including the base game, all updates, and the acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion. For the latest news on the game, check out our article below!
