BioWare has largely shifted its focus away from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but the dedicated team still working on the game has managed to surprise fans with a new addition. A small DLC weapons pack, known as the Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer, was quietly added to the RPG’s Steam page, offering free cosmetic content. This unexpected update comes despite EA's earlier indications that Dragon Age: The Veilguard would receive minimal future support. The game's fifth patch in January promised to focus primarily on addressing game-breaking bugs, making the addition of new content, even if modest, feel like a delightful surprise.

The Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer is exclusively available to current owners of the game and those who purchase it on PC before April 8, 2025. Although there's no detailed description of what the bundle includes, the community has discovered that it features a set of Watchful skins accessible in the Rook’s in-game room. It remains uncertain whether this offer will extend to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of the game.

Reactions from the community have been mixed but generally positive. One Steam review commented, "Even if these appearances aren't the most, uh, beautiful things ever, they do give spooky eldritch horror vibes!"
