Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling updates for the upcoming *The Mandalorian and Grogu*-themed expansion in *Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run*, set to launch alongside the new movie. The update, arriving on May 22, 2026, promises an immersive choose-your-own-adventure storyline where players can visit planets like Coruscant, Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. Engineers will have the unique opportunity to care for Grogu, adding a new layer of interaction and engagement to the experience.
While the update will follow a different narrative path from *The Mandalorian & Grogu* movie, it will still feature both Din Djarin and Grogu prominently. The storyline kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a deal on Tatooine involving ex-Imperial officers and pirates, leading to a high-stakes galactic chase. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to track down the culprits and claim a bounty in this expansive adventure.

Although complete details are yet to be revealed, it's clear that Engineers will play a more significant role, especially with the responsibility of looking after Grogu. Asa Kalama from Walt Disney Imagineering shared insights on what to expect from this update. "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "So, we think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. So, we love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."
The choose-your-own-adventure aspect will include crucial decision-making moments, as Kalama noted: "There will be sort of a critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. And that's going to be the sort of inciting incident that allows us to decide which are the different destinations we go to."
