The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer Finally Brings Marvel's First Family Into the MCU, Teases Galactus' Arrival

Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering a thrilling glimpse into what promises to be a monumental superhero film in 2025. The trailer introduces Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing, alongside the formidable supervillain, Galactus. Opening with a dinner scene at the Baxter Building, the trailer showcases the film's stylish 1960s retro-futuristic aesthetic and hints at an epic battle set in New York City.

We see Ben Grimm's transformation into The Thing, alongside H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics), both seemingly engrossed in culinary pursuits. Elsewhere, Sue Storm briefly displays her powers as Invisible Woman, and Johnny Storm takes flight as the Human Torch. While Reed Richards' stretchy abilities as Mr. Fantastic are not yet fully showcased, the trailer does feature a brief appearance by John Malkovich, rumored to be playing Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost.

The trailer's launch event took place at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, where stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach interacted with enthusiastic fans.

Set for release on July 25, 2025, the film stars Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, alongside Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Matt Shakman directs, with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige producing.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

Speculation is rife among fans regarding a potential appearance by Robert Downey, Jr. as Doctor Doom, either within The Fantastic Four: First Steps itself or through a teasing cameo. Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's appearances in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
