In the main quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, Hans enlists your help once more, this time at Trosky Castle. Your first task involves using alchemy to save someone by brewing Fever Tonic. Here’s a detailed guide on how to locate the recipe and brew the Fever Tonic.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Fever Tonic Recipe Location

The recipe for Fever Tonic can be found in the Surgeon’s Workshop at Trosky Castle. There are two ways to access this workshop:

• Sneak into the workshop: This method requires stealth and careful maneuvering.
• Convince the chamberlain: If you prefer a diplomatic approach, complete the objectives of "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by delivering the horseshoe. Then, return to the forge and speak with Cook Fanka. Offer to help her with her locked chest, and she will lead you to the noble’s kitchen. Upon entering, you'll notice the chamberlain in distress. Engage him about his health and pass the skill checks to gain access to the Surgeon’s Workshop. If you also craft a digestive potion, you can earn further trust and meet Thomas.

If your skill checks fail, you'll need to steal some food and leave the kitchen. Head to the other side of the courtyard, up the stairs, and through a door on your right. This leads to another kitchen where a guard is stationed. Offer him the stolen food to clear the area, then sneak upstairs to the Surgeon’s Workshop. Inside, locate the physician's journal on the bookshelf, read it, and use the station to brew your potions.

How to Brew Fever Tonic

The herbs needed for the Fever Tonic are already set up at the surgeon’s station. Follow these steps to brew the tonic:

1. Pour wine into the cauldron.
2. Add 3 handfuls of Feverfew.
3. Lower the cauldron and boil for 2 turns of the sandglass.
4. Grind a handful of Elderberry Leaves with the mortar and pestle.
5. Add the ground Elderberry Leaves.
6. Add 2 handfuls of Ginger.
7. Grab a phial from the bottom left shelf of the station, under the wine.
8. Distill the tonic using the Still.

Don't worry if you don't succeed on your first attempt; you have plenty of herbs available, and more can be found in the chest in the room. Given your prior experience with potion-making, crafting the Fever Tonic should be manageable.

Once you've brewed the Fever Tonic, your next step is to deliver it to Thomas. If you've earned the chamberlain's trust with a digestive potion, return to him with both potions. Otherwise, use the noble’s kitchen to sneak up to the chapel where you'll find Thomas and his sister, Adele. Speak with Adele to complete the quest.
