The developers of the upcoming life simulation game, inZOI, recently addressed fan questions, notably one regarding the depiction of intimate relationships. The assistant director's response regarding the presence of sexual content was deliberately vague, leaving players uncertain about the specifics. Essentially, the implication is that romantic interactions between male and female ZOIs leading to childbirth will occur, but the visual representation will be left to player interpretation.
While the implication is clear, the level of detail is far less explicit than many anticipated.
Currently, the level of censorship remains unclear; it's unknown whether inZOI will mirror The Sims series' approach or employ a novel method.
The developers also explained the choice to depict ZOIs showering in towels instead of using pixelated censorship. They argued that towel-based depictions better suit the game's cartoonish art style; in a realistic style, pixelation can appear overly sexualized. Furthermore, a technical bug related to pixelated censorship in reflections also influenced this decision.
The game's rating provides further context. The ESRB has assigned a "T" rating (for teens), with a PEGI 12 rating anticipated. These ratings align with those given to The Sims 4, offering a reasonable indication of the game's content.
