Bethesda and id Software showcased a new demo of DOOM: The Dark Ages during the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier rumors of a May 15th release date.
Transporting players to the medieval era, DOOM: The Dark Ages offers a unique gameplay experience distinct from DOOM: Eternal. Forget the constant jumping and parkour; this iteration emphasizes a more grounded, tank-like approach. Players will become true killing machines, utilizing a powerful arsenal to decimate demonic hordes.
Central to this demonic destruction are a shield and mace, providing a visceral and brutal combat experience. For the first time in the series, players will command a giant mech to battle smaller demons, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay. Furthermore, the campaign will feature the exhilarating opportunity to ride a dragon.
A flexible difficulty system allows players to customize their experience, adjusting enemy damage, challenge level, and other parameters to suit their preferred playstyle.
