No Man's Sky's Solanium: Gathering, Farming, and Crafting Guide
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire it through gathering, farming, and crafting.
Finding Solanium
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium is found on hot, arid planets. Use your ship's scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a resource.
Once landed, use your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines—tall, rock-like plants with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, collect Phosphorus deposits if available; it's a key ingredient in Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can farm Solar Vines. Plant them in Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes (using 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus) or directly into the ground on a hot planet. Harvest after approximately 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes create Solanium, mostly using Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:
Note: Most recipes, including those using Sulphurine, require a visit to a hot planet. To consistently have Sulphurine, focus on gathering Phosphorus and establishing a base farm.
