Hearthstone's Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set: A Massive Expansion Arriving January 21st

Get ready for the biggest Hearthstone Mini-Set yet! Launching January 21st, Heroes of StarCraft boasts a whopping 49 new cards, a significant increase over previous Mini-Sets. This crossover expansion blends the worlds of Hearthstone and StarCraft, introducing class and multi-class cards representing the iconic Zerg, Protoss, and Terran factions.

Revealed during the November 13th, 2024 Warcraft Direct, the Mini-Set initially offered limited details. Now, the full picture is clear: each Hearthstone class receives three new cards, while each StarCraft faction contributes five faction-specific cards playable by associated classes, including one Legendary card per faction. A single neutral Legendary card, Grunty, completes the collection. Card reveals will continue throughout the week leading up to the launch.

Faction Focus:

  • Zerg (Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, Warlock): Emphasizes summoning hordes of Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for swarm-based damage.
  • Protoss (Druid, Mage, Priest, Rogue): Centers around temporary and permanent mana manipulation to deploy powerful cards like the Carrier.
  • Terran (Paladin, Shaman, Warrior): Integrates the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond, introducing new Starship Pieces and strategies for deploying multiple Starships, including a Mech-type Starship.

Pricing and Availability:

The expanded content comes at a slightly higher cost. A complete set of Heroes of StarCraft cards costs $20 (or 2500 gold), while the all-Golden version is priced at $80 (or 12,000 gold). Individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) are available for $10 (or 1200 gold). Cards can also be obtained through The Great Dark Beyond card packs.

Celebration Events:

To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone is hosting two streamed events:

  • StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST): Featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9 showcasing the new cards.
  • HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST): Showcasing Hearthstone community creators battling it out, representing each StarCraft faction.

Watching these events on Twitch will reward viewers with two standard and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs. Don't miss out on the free cards!
