Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available for just $19.99.
Recent days have been filled with speculation, including a now-removed $20 listing on Gamestop that aligned with information from reliable leaker Billbil-kun. Now, developer Team Cherry has confirmed the official pricing, revealing the game will retail for $19.99 in the U.S., €19.99 in Europe, and ¥2300 in Japan.
This price point stands out, especially at a time when many publishers are experimenting with higher-priced games. Xbox recently set the anticipated price of The Outer Worlds 2 at $80, becoming its first title to break the standard $70 pricing. However, following significant fan feedback, the company reverted the pre-order price to $70 to reflect current market conditions.
That's not the only news. The team also announced specific release times: 7am PT, 10am ET, 4pm CEST, and 11pm JST.
Team Cherry unveiled the release date for the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong at gamescom: September 4, 2025. The announcement came alongside a nearly two-minute new trailer showcasing extensive new gameplay. Viewers saw Hornet exploring diverse environments, encountering new insect-like NPCs, navigating dreary graveyards, swamps, and a bustling city, as well as facing new enemies and bosses and an escape sequence reminiscent of Ori. The game will launch on PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
In related news, the first Hollow Knight game has surpassed 15 million copies sold, an extraordinary milestone for an indie title. Coincidentally, eight years after its initial release, Hollow Knight has recently achieved record-breaking concurrent player counts on Steam (via SteamDB), peaking at over 70,000 players just last weekend.
