Disneyland Paris has unveiled exciting updates about its upcoming Lion King experience, including fresh concept images and confirmation that construction will begin in Fall 2025. This first-ever Lion King themed land promises to be a centerpiece of the transformed Walt Disney Studios Park, which will be renamed Disney Adventure World.
The ambitious project will feature a thrilling water ride retelling the 1994 animated classic's most memorable moments. Visitors will encounter stunning set pieces including a towering 120-foot Pride Rock replica, alongside dining options, retail experiences, and character interactions throughout this immersive African savanna environment.

Newly released concept art reveals an animatronic-filled jungle scene with young Simba enjoying grubs with Timon and Pumbaa - just one section of a ride that will culminate in a dramatic 52-foot drop, slightly surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure in height. While no opening date is confirmed yet, the attraction will debut after World of Frozen's 2026 launch as part of the massive Disney Adventure World expansion nearly doubling the current park size.
The Lion King experience joins previously announced attractions including World of Frozen, the Tangled-themed spinning ride featuring Mandy Moore's return as Rapunzel, and an unprecedented "Up"-inspired aerial carousel offering panoramic park views. The transformation kicks off May 15, 2025 with World Premiere - a dazzling new entrance area evoking Hollywood's golden age premiere nights.
The redesigned park will also feature World Premiere Plaza, drawing inspiration from Broadway and London's West End with theaters hosting shows like "TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure" and "Frozen: A Musical Invitation." Disney fans can also look forward to celebrating The Lion King's 30th anniversary while anticipating these groundbreaking additions to the Paris resort.
