After weeks of persistent inquiries from the player base, the development team behind Infinity Nikki has finally addressed the concerns surrounding the rocky launch of Version 1.5. Players who have experienced the update firsthand will agree—it felt incomplete. The team has now acknowledged that they weren't fully prepared for the rollout. As a result, they've made the decision to delay the release of Version 1.6.
Originally, Version 1.5 hit the servers on April 28th, with Version 1.6 slated to follow on June 4th. However, due to the recent developments, the release of Version 1.6 has been rescheduled to June 12th. In light of this delay, the ongoing Bubble Season has been extended, allowing players more time to engage with its various events. Events such as Chase the Bubbles, Rainbow Album, and Where Are the Gifties? will continue until the new release date. Additionally, stores like Pear-Pal Selected/Store: Clothing, Heartfelt Gifts, and the Shake Up Bubble Jar! top-up event will remain open. Even weekly tasks like Starlit Pursuit, initially scheduled for May 20th, are now set to coincide with the Version 1.6 launch.
The developers have issued an apology, admitting struggles with performance across multiple platforms, including PlayStation. They are currently working on refining gameplay systems and have assured players that missing storylines, such as Threads of Reunion, are not being abandoned but merely postponed.
Recent gameplay has been marred by an array of issues including bugs, broken quests, and co-op malfunctions. In an effort to mitigate these problems, the team is offering compensation in the form of 120 Diamonds and 1 Crystal per day, available from June 5th to June 12th. Players must log in daily to claim these rewards.
Some community members view this as a last-ditch effort to salvage engagement metrics following the recent setbacks. There's also a sentiment of frustration among players, as the apology was quickly overshadowed by promotional banners for new outfits.
