Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never greenlit. While the concept was deemed "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as the reasons for its cancellation.
He expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' compelling alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future narratives.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. Set in a 1951 alternate reality where aliens invade the UK, the games paved the way for Insomniac's later successes with franchises like Marvel's Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank.
Price's retirement, announced earlier this year after a 30-year tenure, will see Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang take the reins as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's current projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.
