Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Completing "Under the Straw Hat" Quest

Some quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* require a trip to Kuttenberg before you can even begin. But once you're there, the world opens up, allowing travel between regions. Let's explore how to complete the "Under the Straw Hat" quest.

Before tackling "Under the Straw Hat," you must first start "In Vino Veritas," a side quest located in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, seek out Casper Rudolf, offering free wine samples on the city's west side. He needs your help gathering information to improve his winemaking.

You can either impress Havel with your wine knowledge directly, or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and learn more about wine. If choosing the direct approach with Havel, ensure you're dressed well and clean. When speaking to Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" as your responses – this is crucial for obtaining information. Return to Casper with your findings.

Accessing the Vineyard

Casper now tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate a specific incense. Avoid trespassing by sticking to the main road. Speak with the recruiter at the vineyard entrance; this initiates the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue along the road, passing a guard, until you find Jerome seated on a bench.

Inform Jerome of your assigned task. He'll provide details about working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your vineyard work begins the following day. Return after resting. To earn your pay, move sacks to their designated locations and harvest thistles near the vines. Alternatively, you can directly seek the secret incense.

The incense is located in the wine cellar, found downstairs in the main building. Access is restricted, so be cautious to avoid punishment. Either use a lockpick or steal the keys from Jerome to enter. Locate the chest inside and retrieve the Sulphur Wicks to complete the main objective. For an additional reward, collect five seedlings from near the entrance to the main building (this involves trespassing, so act quickly).

If you chose to work, collect your pay from Jerome at the day's end. Otherwise, return to Casper with the wicks (and seedlings, if collected). This completes both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." Now you can move on to other quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys."
