For completionists playing Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section is usually a satisfyingly short list to complete. However, the enigmatic Promo Card 008 is currently causing a frustrating gap for many players.

The Appearance of Promo Card 008

The unobtainable Promo Card 008 mysteriously appeared around January 2025 in the Promo – A Card Dex. This empty slot sits conspicuously between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009).

While the card's number suggests it's existed for some time, it only recently began displaying as a blank space in the list. This has left players eager to learn how to acquire it.

Unveiling Promo Card 008

Although currently unobtainable, investigating reveals the card's design. Accessing the "Related Cards" section (viewable from cards like Red Card 006 or Pokedex 004) shows a greyed-out version of Promo Card 008. It depicts an alternate art Pokedex surrounded by Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

Clicking the image leads to an information page confirming its unowned status and stating it will be "obtained from a campaign." This phrasing is similar to the New Year 2025 Pikachu card (Promo 026), suggesting a potential giveaway event.

Unlike cards obtained through missions or Wonder Pick events (which have specific event-related descriptions), the "campaign" designation is unique. This lack of clarity leaves the exact release date and acquisition method unknown.

Until its release, players frustrated by the incomplete collection can temporarily hide unowned cards via the in-game settings.
