What is MTG Edge of Eternities?

This year, Wizards of the Coast is diving deep into Universes Beyond sets, starting with Final Fantasy and followed by Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Yet, Edge of Eternities takes a different approach, focusing on a cosmic theme within the Magic universe itself. Positioned between the Final Fantasy and Spider-Man sets, it introduces the final arc of the Metronome storyline that started with Wilds of Eldraine, offering fans a new narrative to explore.

Play Boosters are now the standard for opening packs, replacing both Set Boosters and Draft Boosters. These packs are suitable for draft and sealed play, each containing 15 cards, with the last usually being an advertisement, art card, or token. The distribution includes six commons (with the seventh being a common reprint), three uncommons, one rare or mythic rare, one Land card that may be foil or have full art, and two wildcards, one of which is guaranteed to be foil. These packs are available individually or in booster boxes, enhancing the chances of pulling chase cards.

Commander has surged in popularity due to its exciting "last player standing" format and ready-to-play 100-card decks. This year's sets have varied in the number of Commander decks offered, from two in Aetherdrift to five in Tarkir: Dragonstorm. Edge of Eternities includes two decks: World Shaper (Black, Red, Green) and Counter Intelligence (Blue, Red, White).
