The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues. Beyond the Siren Isle update, Season 2 is anticipated in late 2025, introducing new endgame content and the next chapter of this expansion. However, Patch 11.0.7 includes several new story quests setting the stage for Patch 11.1, centered around the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic destruction of Dalaran, though this won't be immediately available upon patch launch.

Updated January 7, 2025, by Paul Woodward: The recent campaign quests feel like a definitive ending. Dalaran, a long-standing location in Warcraft lore, may never recover from the events of The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue provides closure to this storyline and a farewell to a significant social hub in Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

How to Begin the Patch 11.1 Prologue

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the "Lingering Shadows" campaign begins immediately. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaign isn't required. For optimal understanding, complete prior story content to avoid spoilers and gain context. The "Lingering Shadows" campaign includes:

• Standing in the Way
• No Breathing Room
• Together, Alone
• The Voice
• Ringing in the Deeps
• Good Help These Days
• Hey, What's Going On?
• Haywired and Hostile
• Built to Blast
• Bat Versus World
• Found Friends

After "Found Friends," speak with Orweyna. While not part of the main campaign, her quest offers insights into future plot developments within The War Within or subsequent World Soul Saga expansions.

How to Initiate the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially, a three-week delay was implemented for the Dalaran Epilogue. As of January 7th, this restriction is lifted. However, unlocking this campaign requires completion of both The War Within leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (unlocked by achieving at least Renown Four with all four Khaz'algar factions).

If unsure of your progress, visit Foundation Hall (the prologue quest starting point for Patch 11.1). If Khadgar is present after January 7th, you can receive a quest. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests. The full Dalaran Epilogue quest list follows:

Completing this campaign unlocks the "Fate of the Kirin Tor" achievement and the "Witness of the Kirin Tor" title.
