However, the game's Steam page shows a 57% positive rating from 54,669 reviews, with many citing poor PC optimization and performance problems.

Capcom Addresses PC Performance

Acknowledging the negative feedback, Capcom's Monster Hunter Status Twitter account (now X) on February 28, 2025, addressed these concerns, directing players to their support website. Solutions suggested include updating graphics drivers, installing the latest Windows updates, and performing a clean driver installation. Persistent issues are encouraged to be reported via the official Steam community troubleshooting thread.

Game-Breaking Bug Impacts Story Progression

A critical bug is preventing players from progressing through Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 ("A World Turned Upside Down"). A vital NPC fails to appear, halting gameplay. Monster Hunter Status confirmed awareness of this issue on March 2, 2025, and stated they are actively working on a resolution. Additional issues, including the unavailability of "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features, and Smithy access problems, have also been addressed with hotfixes across platforms.

Character Customization Locked Behind Microtransactions

Character and Palico appearance customization is gated behind microtransactions. A three-voucher pack costing $6 allows three character recreations, while a $10 pack offers three edits for both character and Palico. While hair, eyebrow, facial color, makeup, and clothing remain free to adjust, significant changes require purchase. Despite this, Capcom is providing a single free character edit voucher. These microtransactions, absent during the testing phase, were previously announced by Capcom.
