Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement, but recent discussions have taken a surprising turn from the console itself to the dimensions of its physical game cases. This shift in focus was sparked by a potential leak from a French retailer, Fnac, which listed dimensions for a Take-Two Interactive game intended for the Nintendo Switch 2. If these dimensions are accurate, it appears that the game boxes for the upcoming console will be slightly larger than those of the current Nintendo Switch.

The speculation gained traction after a Reddit user, HertzBurst, shared a visual comparison of the two box sizes. According to the listing, the Nintendo Switch 2 game cases are expected to measure 5.1 inches by 7.7 inches (13 centimeters by 19.5 centimeters). While these dimensions make the new cases a bit larger than those of the original Switch, they remain significantly smaller than the standard cases used for Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 games. Although this information is not yet officially confirmed, it's plausible that retailers would receive such details early to prepare for stock displays and other logistical arrangements.

As anticipation builds, the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 seems to be on the horizon. Although Nintendo has not provided an official release window, industry insiders speculate that the console could launch between June and September. This speculation is fueled by upcoming hands-on events scheduled through June and a statement from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, suggesting that the console will be available before September.

Earlier in January, Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 with a brief trailer that highlighted its backward compatibility and the inclusion of an additional USB-C port. However, many details, such as the console's game lineup and the function of a mysterious new button on the Joy-Con, were left undisclosed. This has led to various theories, including the intriguing idea that the new button might serve as a mouse-like control.
