After more than a month, Amazon's listings for the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been updated. The product pages appeared several weeks after the console's official release, much later than most other retailers, and initially lacked purchase options. While a "Buy" button is still missing, a new "Request invite" feature has been added, suggesting the Switch 2 may soon become available on Amazon. You can now visit the product listing and submit your request.

It remains uncertain how soon Amazon will begin sending out purchase invitations for Nintendo’s new console. Likewise, there's no indication of how many Switch 2 units Amazon will have in stock.
Amazon and Nintendo’s partnership has faced challenges in recent years, with first-party Nintendo titles unavailable for direct purchase on Amazon. It was only a few weeks ago, after the Switch 2’s launch, that first-party Switch 2 games started reappearing on Amazon. Although some speculated that the absence of Nintendo listings was due to disagreements over third-party sales, Nintendo has denied these claims.
Many online shoppers, however, still prefer to buy from Amazon. If the new “Request invite” button on the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle signals easing tensions, that would be welcome news for consumers.
The Switch 2 listing update happened to coincide with the beginning of Amazon Prime Day 2025. Is there a connection? Probably not. But if you're shopping for accessories and games, now is an excellent time to buy. For those looking to avoid the Switch 2’s price, used Nintendo Switch OLED models are currently discounted to $208, and Best Buy is offering significant savings on Switch games.
