Pokémon GO announced the arrival of Gigantamax Kingler on February 1st. Last year's highly anticipated Dynamax and Gigantamax update has steadily expanded the roster of available forms. Gigantamax, a powerful Dynamax variant, not only increases a Pokémon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and grants unique G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Gigantamax-capable Pokémon, Pokémon GO currently boasts only six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the most recent addition. This number is set to increase with a new event.

Gigantamax Kingler's debut in Pokémon GO's Max Battle Day on February 1st will be a significant event. Running from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, this event introduces the Water-type Pokémon to six-star Max Battles, offering a chance to encounter a Shiny Gigantamax Kingler. Players can leverage Max Mushrooms, temporarily increasing damage dealt by Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Battles.

During the event, players can collect up to 1600 Max Particles, crucial for participating in Max Battles. From 12 am to 5 pm on February 1st, players will earn double Max Particles while exploring, requiring only a quarter of the usual distance. A $5 ticket offers a Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, double Max Battle XP, and a boosted particle collection limit of 5600. A $7.99 bundle with six particle packs will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store.

Max Battle Day is one of February's highlighted events, but not the only one. Niantic recently announced the Lunar New Year event (January 29th - February 1st). While Gigantamax Kingler won't appear during this event, other exciting activities are planned, including a Shadow Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day on January 19th and the upcoming arrival of more Galar Pokémon.
