Exciting news for fans of the critically acclaimed action game, *Stellar Blade*—developer Shift Up has officially announced that a fully-fledged sequel is in the works. Launched in April 2024 and published by PlayStation, *Stellar Blade* quickly garnered a positive reception, with players praising its gameplay, which cleverly blends elements reminiscent of *NieR: Automata* and *Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice*.

Shift Up, the Korean company behind the game, revealed this sequel as part of their future plans in a chart included in their latest financial results, released today. The chart outlines how the company aims to expand its franchises in the coming years, with the *Stellar Blade* sequel slated for release before 2027.

Before diving into the sequel, *Stellar Blade* is set to undergo a "platform expansion," which is expected to refer to the game's much-anticipated PC version, scheduled to launch on June 11, 2025. Additionally, this period will see the debut of Shift Up's enigmatic new project, *Project Witches*, a multiplatform action RPG that remains shrouded in mystery but promises to captivate players.

Earlier this week, Shift Up addressed a PC region lock issue with Sony, which had temporarily blocked the game's store page on Steam in over 100 countries. They are actively working on resolving this matter.

In our review of *Stellar Blade*, IGN noted that while the game boasts stunning visuals and a well-crafted action system, it falls short in its narrative and character development. The RPG elements, particularly the sidequests, were criticized for being repetitive and lacking innovation. However, the game's combat system, inspired by *Sekiro*, stands out as a major strength, offering players a deep and engaging experience alongside a variety of challenging enemies and rewarding exploration opportunities.
