The fire surrounding the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake rumors just got a bit hotter with a surprising development from Singapore's rating board. They've rated "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for a release in 2025, adding more fuel to the speculation. This rumored remake, featuring the next two iconic entries in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, is set to roll out on a wide array of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, according to the ratings board.

While there's no official word from Activision yet, the anticipation is building, especially with a countdown timer spotted in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is teasing some Tony Hawk's Pro Skater news set to drop on March 4, 2025. This has fans eagerly awaiting confirmation and details about the project.

Adding to the excitement, Tony Hawk himself shared in an interview with Mythical Kitchen that he's been in talks with Activision again. Hawk hinted at an upcoming project, promising that "it will be something the fans will truly appreciate." This comes on the heels of the highly acclaimed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake from 2020, which set the stage for what many hoped would be a remake of the next two games in the series.

However, the path to remaking Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 hasn't been straightforward. Following the success of the 1+2 remake, the original plan was to move directly to 3+4, as confirmed by Tony Hawk. Yet, the landscape changed when Activision merged the developer Vicarious Visions into Blizzard in 2021, shifting their focus to Blizzard's projects. This left Activision searching for a new developer to take on the task.

In a Twitch livestream in 2022, Tony Hawk revealed that Activision had been considering various pitches from other studios but hadn't found a suitable replacement for Vicarious Visions. "The truth of it is that [Activision] were trying to find somebody to do 3 + 4 but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious, so they took other pitches from other studios," Hawk explained. "Like, ‘What would you do with the THPS title?’ And they didn’t like anything they heard, and then that was it."

With the Singaporean ratings board listing Activision as both the publisher and developer for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake, the big question remains: who is actually developing this anticipated title? Fans won't have to wait long for more answers, as the countdown timer points to an announcement on March 4, next week. Until then, the skateboarding community is buzzing with anticipation and speculation about what's to come.
