Discard players, rejoice. Khonshu, the God of the Moon, has made his grand entrance into *Marvel Snap*, bringing an exciting new tool for discard-centric decks. This card, released by Second Dinner, is one of the most intricate we've seen yet, so let's delve into how Khonshu operates and the best strategies to leverage his unique abilities.
Khonshu is a 6-cost card with an initial power of 5, and his ability is as follows: When discarded, he returns in his next phase. On Reveal: Resurrect a card you discarded to another location with its Power set to 5.
In his 'next phase', Khonshu becomes a 6-cost, 8-power card with the ability: When discarded, returns in its final phase. On Reveal: Resurrect a card you discarded to another location with its Power set to 8.
Finally, in his 'final phase', Khonshu transforms into a 6-cost, 12-power card with the ability: On Reveal: Resurrect a card you discarded to another location with its Power set to 12.
As you can see, each time Khonshu is discarded, he upgrades himself upon returning to your hand, making his On Reveal effect progressively more powerful. This mechanic is reminiscent of how Apocalypse functions within the game.
The typical strategy with Khonshu involves discarding him one or two times before playing him on the final turn, resurrecting a card that can benefit significantly from a power boost, such as Iron Man or Gorr the God Butcher. Although Khonshu's inability to revive a specific card can be a limitation, playing a 12-power final phase Khonshu on turn 6 to resurrect a 1-cost card like Meek at 12 power can often clinch victory.
Experimentation will be key to discovering the optimal deck for Khonshu, as he doesn't fit seamlessly into traditional discard decks. I believe he may initially find a home in a Darkhawk-style Stature list, as well as some alternative discard-type decks. Let's examine the former:

The only Series 5 card in this list is Fenris Wolf, which is crucial as resurrecting an opponent's discarded card from Moon Knight, Silver Samurai, or Black Bolt can often be a winning move.
The strategy with this deck is straightforward: fill your opponent's deck with rocks to boost Darkhawk's power and aim to discard Khonshu as often as possible. Besides Fenris Wolf, cards like Rock Slide and Silver Samurai help, while Moon Knight will consistently target Khonshu, and Blade will hit him again upon his return. The challenge lies in timing your discards correctly, ensuring that Moon Knight hits Khonshu rather than Rock Slide.
The plan is to play Stature early, followed by Darkhawk on turn 5 and Khonshu on turn 6 to revive a card with 8-12 power. Since all these cards have less than 8 power, Khonshu directly enhances their impact.
While Khonshu may not easily fit into traditional discard decks alongside Apocalypse due to their shared high cost, there's potential for experimentation. The following list incorporates energy ramp through Corvus Glaive:

The only Series 5 card here is Scorn, which can be substituted with another discard activator like Colleen Wing or X-23 for additional energy ramp.
This deck leans towards a traditional discard style but heavily relies on playing Corvus Glaive on turn 3 to set up Khonshu alongside other discard activators. This approach aims to amplify Apocalypse and flood the board. Whether this will outperform traditional discard decks without Khonshu is yet to be seen, but with Moon Knight, Blade, and Lady Sif, getting Khonshu to his final phase shouldn't be difficult while keeping Apocalypse strong for Dracula to absorb.
Regardless of your affinity for discard decks, Khonshu is both a powerful and intriguing card. It's likely that he will be featured prominently in hybrid discard lists and could become a meta-relevant player. Therefore, if you have the resources, it's definitely worth considering acquiring Khonshu.
