Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles featuring multiple playable characters, each with unique weapon sets, Dynasty Warriors: Origins streamlines gameplay by offering a single protagonist who can acquire a variety of weapons. This guide details how to obtain each weapon.

Weapon Acquisition

The game begins with a sword. Additional weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers during missions. While all nine primary weapons can typically be acquired before completing Chapter 3, the exact timing depends on which officers you defeat. Here's a breakdown of my weapon acquisition timeline:

• Sword: Starting weapon.
• Spear: Completing the Battle of Guangyang (Chapter 1) and purchasing it to advance the storyline.
• Gauntlets: Defeating Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong (Chapter 1).
• Wheels: Defeating Zhang Ju during the Suppression of You Province (Chapter 2).
• Podao: Defeating an officer wielding this weapon in the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits (Chapter 2). Multiple officers carry this weapon.
• Staff: Defeating an officer within a hidden treasure chamber accessible via a secret passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo (Chapter 2).
• Twin Pike: Defeating Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2).
• Lance: Defeating an officer carrying the lance in the Battle of Xu Province. Since you can ally with either Cao Cao or Liu Bei, the officer will be on the opposing side.
• Crescent Blade: Acquired sometime in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies depending on your choices.

A final weapon, the halberd, awaits after completing the main campaign. This powerful weapon is unlocked by defeating Lu Bu in the Battle of Hulao Gate – a challenging but rewarding encounter.
