Your adventure begins right in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. First things first, clear out any unnecessary loot and gear up. In my opinion, a Rifle is your best bet here. It's only $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most enemies, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to fuel your boat; it's got an old-school engine, after all.

The next town is 10,000m away, so just get the boat started and you'll be on your way. You can stop to take down and loot Zombies and Drowned, but I wouldn't recommend it as the houses on the sides don't hold much value. To restart the ship, simply add more coal and get moving again. Ignore the worm on the right side; it's not a threat. Wait until you reach the second safe zone to sell off your items, but watch out for Big Foot and Zombie mobs on both sides of the river.

After passing the second safe zone/town, you'll see many burning buildings teeming with mobs. If you're with friends, clear them out, but otherwise, it's a waste of time due to scattered spawn points. Around 12,000m, you'll come across a castle-like house filled with Drowned, but also stocked with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot. Use these resources wisely.

By now, you've got the hang of the core gameplay loop: kill, loot, repeat, and hope the enemy falls. To elevate your game, focus on efficiency. Use your boat as your primary inventory, emptying your bag onto it to save time and space.

A crucial tip from my Dead Sails Kraken guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. Although it's tempting to flee these backwater towns quickly, efficient loot stacking pays off. Running low on fuel? Just throw a few Zombies into the incinerator and you're set.

Another handy tip is to pay attention to what's happening in the Sheriff's offices. You'll often find a high concentration of mobs, but also great rewards in terms of weapons and ammo. I managed to keep my shotgun stocked for a while by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.

Save your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress around 25,000m. It's under construction, making it easy for mobs to ambush you. I wouldn't recommend going alone; a group of at least three, ideally five, is best. Be efficient when collecting loot here.

DO NOT engage the Big Feet after 30,000m. They're incredibly strong, consume a lot of ammo, and can hit like a truck. Keep moving and plan your stops carefully. Remember, loot isn't everything.
The town after 50,000m is one of my favorite farming spots. It's packed with at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies, perfect for those with Shotguns or a Sawnoff. It's also an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to prepare the bodies for loading quickly.
Before facing the Kraken, sell everything you can in the final safe zone and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned; have a minimum of 8-10 corpses ready for fuel during the final stretch. As you approach 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to battle the beast. You'll know it's coming when the skies darken.

As the Kraken emerges, EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can attack if not properly dealt with. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like shape and let each person handle their own tentacle.

Beware of the water splash ability, which causes area-of-effect damage. It's signaled by the Kraken winding back and creating a water trail with its tentacle. Use medkits generously, as some damage is unavoidable.

Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which causes minor, unblockable damage and may slightly boost the boss's damage. It's indicated by white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle.

As you can see, the challenge is surmountable. That wraps up my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. If you want to conquer the boss even quicker, grab one of our Dead Sails codes to see how far and fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
