Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has officially announced the next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, marking the first Xbox game showcase of 2025 and the third installment of this annual event. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this showcase promises exciting reveals.

Initially rumored for January 9th, the confirmation of the January 23rd date (10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT) will delight fans. The event will air on YouTube and Twitch.

Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
• Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this highly anticipated shooter, initially announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024, is rumored for a mid-2025 launch.
• South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), originally unveiled in June 2023, with a release date potentially revealed at the showcase.

While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple games. Given this precedent, the 2025 event may hold further surprises beyond these announcements. The 2024 showcase included glimpses of Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana, setting a high bar for anticipation.
