South of Midnight Expands to PlayStation, Switch 2

While The Game Awards don't begin for another 30 minutes, video game announcements are already surfacing. Compulsion Games has just revealed that South of Midnight is coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2026.

The news comes via two posts on X (formerly Twitter) from the official Compulsion Games account, each announcing a platform release.

Depending on the final release date, this will likely place the launch roughly one year after the game's initial debut on April 8, 2025. This move aligns South of Midnight with several other Xbox Game Studios titles that have expanded to rival platforms, such as Pentiment, Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake. A remake of the original Halo was also announced earlier this year for both Xbox and PlayStation.

South of Midnight might have been overlooked by some, but it's certainly worth your attention. Our reviewer awarded it an 8/10, praising it as "a straightforward but well-executed action-adventure game elevated by the artistry and heart of the American Southern culture that inspires it."
