Boosting your character's strength in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is achievable through various methods, including utilizing Gems. Gems provide passive buffs, significantly aiding gameplay, especially at higher difficulty levels. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and Pyroxene acquisition.

Gem Crafting and Leveling

Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. Within your room, select "Create Gems" (the second option from the top). You can use Pyroxene to craft gems at a 1:1 ratio. Five distinct gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene having a chance to yield any of these.

Newly crafted gems start at level 1 and can be equipped via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicates of a gem grants experience points (XP), increasing its level and potency. While crafting multiple gems at once is efficient for general upgrading, a more strategic approach exists for targeting specific gems.

Occasionally, crafting a single gem activates "Eyes of the Sacred Bird," randomly selecting three gems, thus limiting the crafting possibilities for subsequent Pyroxene use. You can cancel this effect by exiting and re-entering the gem crafting menu. While crafting individually is time-consuming, it increases your chances of activating "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces randomness but doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Pyroxene Locations

Pyroxene crystals, appearing as orange crystals in the overworld, are your source of gem crafting materials. Interacting with a crystal yields one Pyroxene, after which the crystal disappears. Pyroxene respawns after completing skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters received in your Inn or tent room also occasionally contain Pyroxene.
