Rocksteady Studios, the creator of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, announced further layoffs in late 2024, affecting programmers, artists, and testers. This follows September's layoffs which halved the testing team's size.

The studio faced significant hurdles in 2024, struggling to maintain Suicide Squad despite its poor reception. Warner Bros. reported approximately $200 million in losses from the project. Consequently, no further updates are planned for 2025, though servers will remain active.

These job cuts weren't isolated to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. studio, also experienced layoffs, with 99 employees losing their positions.

The game's early access launch exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, including server outages and a significant plot spoiler. Negative gameplay feedback and scathing reviews from prominent gaming publications led to a massive 791% surge in refund requests, according to McLuck analytics.

Rocksteady's future projects remain unannounced.
