A new trailer confirms a wealth of features for the upcoming PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, launching nearly a year after its PS5 debut. The PC release, set for January 23, 2025, promises a significantly enhanced experience.
Following its highly successful and critically acclaimed PS5 exclusive launch in February 2024 (a title that garnered numerous Game of the Year nominations), the game's arrival on PC has been highly anticipated by players. While an Xbox release remains uncertain, Square Enix has delivered on its promise of a PC version.
The recently released trailer highlights key improvements. Expect stunning visuals with support for up to 4K resolution and a smooth 120fps frame rate. Square Enix also promises "improved lighting" and "enhanced visuals," though specific details remain under wraps for now.
To cater to diverse hardware, the PC port will offer three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) and an adjustable NPC count, allowing players to fine-tune performance based on their system specifications.
Key Features of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Port:
While Nvidia DLSS is included, the trailer made no mention of AMD FSR support, potentially leaving AMD GPU users at a slight performance disadvantage.
The robust feature set bodes well for the PC version's reception. However, the commercial success on PC remains to be seen, following what Square Enix described as less-than-stellar PS5 sales figures. Only time will tell if the PC port meets their expectations.
