These systems are designed for those with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and are suitable for children aged 2 years and older.

One of the core features of the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro is the ability to deliver timely alarms and alerts based on your glucose levels. This helps you stay informed about your glucose numbers and their trends, enabling better diabetes management decisions. *Note that fingersticks may still be required if symptoms do not align with the readings.

The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro provide glucose readings every five minutes, ensuring you always have the latest information. The systems offer personalized trend alerts directly on your smart device, notifying you when your glucose levels are moving too low or too high. This feature is vital for proactive diabetes management.

With the Alert Schedule** feature, you can customize a second set of alerts to suit your daily routine. For instance, you might set different alerts during work hours compared to your off hours. Custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option on your phone, are available, though the Urgent Low Alarm cannot be turned off for safety reasons.

The Always Sound** setting, enabled by default, ensures you receive critical Dexcom CGM alerts even if your phone is on silent, set to vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This allows you to silence other notifications while still receiving essential alerts such as the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert**, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts**. A home screen icon indicates whether your alerts will sound, and for safety, the Urgent Low Alarm and three other alerts (Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped) cannot be silenced.

Additional features of the Dexcom G6 system include the ability to Share** your glucose data with up to ten followers in real time through the Dexcom Follow** app, requiring an internet connection. Health Connect access allows sharing of retrospective glucose data with third-party apps, and the Quick Glance feature enables viewing of your glucose data on your smart device's lock screen. Wear OS Integration further enhances your monitoring experience by allowing you to receive glucose alerts and alarms on your Wear OS watch.

**Please note that the Alert Schedule, Always Sound, Share, Follow, and Urgent Low Soon Alert features are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
