VNeID Application for Electronic Identification and Authentication

The VNeID application is a robust tool developed by the National Population Data Center under Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security. It leverages population data, identification, and electronic authentication to facilitate a wide range of services for individuals residing or traveling within Vietnam.

Access Permissions:

By using VNeID, users consent to the application accessing the following functionalities on their devices:

1. Internet Access: To ensure seamless connectivity and operation of the application.
2. Camera Access: To scan QR codes on Citizen ID (CCCD) cards, streamlining the input of basic citizen information and facilitating quick travel and medical declarations at designated scanning points.
3. Media and Files Access: To store QR code images for verification at checkpoints.
4. Notification Services: To send alerts and updates directly to the user's device.

Personal Information Collection:

Users are required to input and declare personal and medical information, including:

• Full name
• Phone number
• Citizen identification
• Gender
• Year of birth
• Permanent address
• Nationality
• Health status
• Travel details (departure point, destination, vehicle number plate)
• Exposure to individuals with COVID-19

All data is collected with explicit user consent through designated forms and submissions, and users bear full responsibility for the accuracy and implications of the information they provide.

Privacy and Copyright Protection:

The National Population Data Center, Ministry of Public Security, ensures the security and confidentiality of user data. This information is used solely for the prevention and control of COVID-19, aiding in health protection and disease prevention, and is never utilized for commercial purposes or to infringe on personal privacy. Data may be shared with health authorities and other relevant entities to enhance COVID-19 prevention efforts.

The application does not collect user location data, and users can engage with the community anonymously. Only authorized entities can access information about infected individuals and those suspected of infection due to close contact, to conduct necessary tracing activities.
