- Note: Suits (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades) do not affect the score in Bai Cao.

Special cases include:
- A player dealt three face cards is said to have "3 West" or "3 Tien."
- A player dealt three of the same number, such as three 3s, is called "3 Scratch."
- When comparing scores, the hierarchy is: 0
