Developed by Pirex Games, Hanoi 12 Days and Nights is a revolutionary game recreating a pivotal moment in history: the aerial battle over Hanoi, mirroring the strategic significance of the original Dien Bien Phu. The game vividly depicts the fierce resistance of the Hanoi people against the overwhelming firepower of the US B-52 bombing campaign. This intense struggle, ultimately culminating in the signing of the Paris Peace Accords in late December 1972, brought an end to the US's direct military involvement in North Vietnam.

From the US perspective, Operation Linebacker II, often referred to as the "Dien Bien Phu in the air," represented the final major military offensive against the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV). Launched between December 18th and 30th, 1972, this campaign followed the collapse of the Paris Peace Talks due to irreconcilable differences between the DRV and the United States regarding the peace agreement's terms. The intense aerial bombardment ultimately paved the way for the eventual signing of the Paris Agreement.
