Welcome to Plingo: a rich and immersive educational experience! Our application has been meticulously crafted by language learning experts, specifically (yet not exclusively) for children learning English as a second language (ESL).

How Does My Child Learn?

Plingo features several 'mini-games' designed to be both engaging and instructive. Your child will develop the following skills:

★ Listening - Our mini-games offer spoken challenges and feedback through a diverse range of characters. Your child's ears will quickly become adept at recognizing words, grammatical structures, and the rhythm and flow of English.

★ Speaking - Yes, in some mini-games, your child will drive the action by speaking, starting with simple individual words and progressing to entire sentences! Our state-of-the-art, industry-leading speech recognition has been extensively tested with children from nearly every country, native language, and dialect, achieving over 99% accuracy in our pre-launch, controlled tests.

★ Vocabulary - With more than 5,000 words and phrases, and new additions every week, your child will effortlessly build a robust vocabulary in no time!

★ Reading - The mini-games combine reading and listening, helping your child become comfortable with both skills!

★ Pronunciation - Many students pick up incorrect pronunciation early on, which can lead to an unnatural accent that's hard to shake. We prevent this by ensuring your child speaks like a native! In the app, your child will systematically learn the 40 phonemes of English (the fundamental sounds of the language), break down words they hear, construct words from phonemes, and master correct pronunciation.

Peripheral Learning

Research clearly demonstrates that the most effective way to learn a language is through immersion in activities that require its use. Our unique and highly effective Peripheral Learning approach means your child will hardly notice they're using an educational app! Instead of mastering arbitrary terms in other games (what's the use of learning "Obsidian" in Minecraft?), let them effortlessly master the English language as they advance through our game levels.

Who Can Use Plingo?

While the game is designed for children aged 6-12 whose first language isn't English, we've seen younger and older learners from all backgrounds and locations enjoy and benefit from Plingo.
