Russian scanwords are globally unique. Nowhere else will you find such a wealth of literary, humorous, and current-events-based clues woven into these seemingly simple puzzles. Russians have a deep-seated love and respect for language, and this shines through in these puzzles.

The app boasts a diverse collection of scanwords—from easy to challenging—featuring photos and a variety of clue styles, including single-word and double-word hints. Each page features a character from our fun cast. Join the fun!

All scanwords are free. The app provides an annual collection: 52-53 issues, each with 20 scanwords. The whole year’s worth of puzzles occupies roughly 50 MB—we keep the images small and the text efficient to save space on your device.

No internet connection is required to play (once downloaded). New issues are released every Friday at 12:00 local time. Enable notifications to receive weekly reminders. New issues download automatically upon login. You can also manually download or delete individual issues, or download all issues at once via Settings.

The core features, including access to all scanwords, are free, thanks to our advertisers. Each page contains one small banner ad, and a single interstitial ad plays before each puzzle. Ads never interrupt gameplay. Watch advertiser videos to earn free hints.

Users can choose to: a) disable ads permanently; b) purchase a subscription to remove ads and unlock unlimited hints; or c) accumulate hints. All options are available in the “Shop.”
