Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series

Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don Cher Horowitz's beloved yellow and plaid outfit once again. According to Variety, Silverstone will reprise her starring role in a new sequel series developed for Peacock. While the plot remains under wraps, it's confirmed that this series will continue the narrative from the original movie.

This project marks a distinct departure from Peacock's previously planned Clueless spin-off announced in 2020. The creative team for the new series includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for their work on *Gossip Girl*, who will be writing the series with Jordan Weiss. Together, they will also executive produce alongside Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are on board to produce this exciting revival.

This isn't the first time *Clueless* has ventured onto the small screen. Following the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the role of Cher instead of Silverstone.

Silverstone's recent appearance as Cher in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten shows her enthusiasm for returning to the character. It's clear she's eager to dive back into Cher's world, and fans are undoubtedly thrilled to see her back in action.
