A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series, Alien: Earth, has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into the show set to premiere on Disney+ this summer. Originally unveiled at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, the trailer was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account, showcasing the intense struggle of survivors aboard a spaceship ravaged by a Xenomorph, hurtling towards Earth.

The trailer not only introduces a new Xenomorph design but also pays homage to the aesthetic of Ridley Scott's seminal 1979 horror film, Alien. Scenes within the MU/TH/UR control room eerily resemble the iconic Nostromo, where Ripley famously uncovered the dire fate of her crew.

In the gripping footage, a crew member desperately seeks help as the Xenomorph closes in, while Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly reports the escape of the "specimens," declares the crew dead, and sets the ship's course for Earth. The trailer then shifts to six soldiers approaching what appears to be the crashed vessel, hinting at a grim outcome.

This teaser raises numerous questions about the series' plot: Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there other survivors, and has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? How will the soldiers meet their fate?

Alien: Earth sets the stage for a mysterious space vessel crashing on Earth, where a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers stumble upon a discovery that pits them against an unprecedented threat.

Set in the year 2120, Alien: Earth fits neatly into the broader Alien timeline, occurring after Prometheus and just before the events of the original Alien. Fans speculate that the series might explore the Nostromo's departure from Earth or reveal how Weyland-Yutani learned about the Xenomorphs. As a point of reference, the recently released Alien: Romulus serves as an interquel between Alien and Aliens.

Showrunner Noah Hawley has previously discussed his decision to diverge from the Prometheus backstory, favoring the "retro-futurism" of the original films. Despite consulting with Ridley Scott on various aspects of the Alien universe, Hawley chose to focus on the lore established in the earlier movies, steering clear of the bioweapon narrative.

Alien: Earth is slated to debut on Hulu in the summer of 2025, with Alien: Romulus 2 also in development, promising more thrilling additions to the iconic franchise.
