How to Complete All Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE

After numerous trials and errors, we've cracked the code to unlock all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. These stages may not be challenging in terms of skill or exploration, but they demand significant Reputation grinding—and we mean a lot!

Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE

To begin, you need to amass 25,000 Reputation points and reach the maximum rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head to the Commission of Counter Ghoul (C.C.G. center) and speak with Damiro D. Mado, the NPC wearing headphones on the second floor. He'll assign you the Arata Stage 1 quest, requiring you to gather 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.

The most efficient method to obtain these is by defeating bosses like Eto and Tatara, shown below, and then crafting the fragments at a crafting table. To check your Reputation, consult Saiyo Natsuki, the NPC in a black suit and tie. Once you have all 20 fragments, convert them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the crafting station. Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE

For Arata stages 2 and 3, you'll need to play in permadeath (PD) mode to unlock the legendary armor. It's wise to team up with reliable and strong allies, as solo missions can be frustrating.

Once you've earned 100,000 Reputation points, head to the elevator in the C.C.G. building and proceed to the Laboratory. There, you'll find Black Reaper of Doom And Despair—the man with a scalpel in a black suit, standing next to the door.

Hand him five one-eyed Kokuja fragments and your 100,000 Reputation, and you'll complete Stage two of obtaining the Arata-Proto armor. Despite various rumors online about needing less Reputation, our experience confirms that 100,000 Reputation points are necessary for a guaranteed success.

Remember, play the second and third Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE on PD servers only. Failing to do so will result in a repeated response from the Black Reaper, preventing you from completing Arata Stage 2 or advancing to Arata Stage 3.

Arata Stage 3 in GHOUL://RE

The final Arata Stage also involves "The Scalpel Guy", additional fragments, and a significant amount of cash. As with Stage 2, you must be in PD mode to continue your quest for the epic armor.

Gather one one-eyed Kakuja fragment and save 500,000 Yen. Visit Black Reaper of Doom And Despair again in the C.C.G. building, and upon payment, he'll teleport you to face Kishou Arima, the final boss.

To defeat Kishou Arima, you'll need at least average gaming skills. Prepare for extensive jumping, dodging, blocking, and dealing high damage. With practice, even players with moderate skills can triumph over him.

Be aware that many might die during this encounter, possibly multiple times. Equip yourself with ample resources. Each subsequent attempt at the boss fight requires another one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen.

Upon defeating Kishou Arima, you'll unlock Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor. Be cautious, however, as while Arata armor provides significant buffs and protection, it's also highly taxing on your character's body, as detailed below.

Arata is an incredibly powerful armor, but it drains your hunger at an alarming rate while equipped. You cannot eat while wearing Arata across all stages, so you'll need to remove the armor to replenish your hunger levels.

The benefits, however, are substantial. While wearing Arata, you cannot be ragdolled, which is a huge advantage in any scenario.

Arata also enhances your equipment, making your character increasingly "tanky", capable of withstanding and dealing significant damage. If your hunger bar depletes during a fight, Arata will start consuming your health bar. Be vigilant during boss fights; you can always remove the armor when it's too risky and heal yourself.

Reputation Grinding

The fastest way to earn the substantial Reputation required is by fighting bosses in PD mode. Though risky, each boss defeated in PD mode grants 1,500 Reputation—far more than the 500 you earn outside PD. Unfortunately, killing Ghouls only yields 100 Reputation points per kill, making them less ideal for grinding during Arata quests.
