Bandai Namco Shuts Down PAC-MAN Mobile

Bandai Namco has recently announced the discontinuation of PAC-MAN Mobile, a decision that carries a touch of irony as the iconic character celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. Launched over a decade ago, this mobile version has been a staple for fans of the legendary game.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases have been halted as of April 1st. If you're still enjoying the game, you can continue playing until the final day.

The community has voiced significant disappointment over Bandai Namco's decision to completely shut down the game rather than offering an offline version. Many fans believe an offline option would have been welcomed and could have continued generating revenue.

PAC-MAN Mobile, previously known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, offered more than just the classic arcade experience. It featured the iconic 8-bit arcade mode, alongside a Story Mode with numerous original mazes, an Adventure Mode with limited-time themed events for exclusive skins, and a Tournament Mode with weekly maze challenges across three difficulty levels. The game also boasted a wide array of skins for PAC-MAN, ghosts, joysticks, and more.

The Reason

The decision to shut down the game likely stems from ongoing issues and bugs that have accumulated over the years, making maintenance increasingly challenging. The early days of its launch on Android were filled with excitement, as players competed for high scores and leaderboard rankings.

If you're eager to experience PAC-MAN Mobile one last time before its shutdown, you can still download it from the Google Play Store.
