After months of swirling rumors and leaks, Bethesda is on the brink of officially unveiling the much-anticipated remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement is set for tomorrow at 11:00 am EST, and fans can catch the reveal live on both YouTube and Twitch.
Bethesda teased the news on Twitter/X today with a post that, while not explicitly detailing the announcement, heavily hinted at it with a prominent "IV" and a background strikingly similar to iconic Oblivion artwork.
The journey to this point has been filled with speculation. Initial whispers of an Oblivion remaster surfaced in 2020 through a leaked Bethesda release schedule during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, pointing to a planned release in fiscal year 2022. Though that timeline had passed, suggesting the project might have been shelved, renewed hope came in January this year with leaks indicating a full-scale remake in collaboration with Virtuos. Last week's leaks from Virtuos' website further fueled the excitement, showcasing in-game images of the remake.
Should the recent leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, featuring a Deluxe Edition complete with the iconic horse armor, in addition to the standard version.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for what promises to be the confirmation of these leaks and, hopefully, a wealth of new details about the project.
