Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a strong statement regarding cheating and the use of external tools to manipulate rankings.
In a recent post on the Monster Hunter X/Twitter account, Capcom warned players: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts found in violation may face suspension or restrictions, including the inability to receive rewards from these quests."
Capcom also cautioned that participating in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could lead to an invalid quest completion time and the revocation of rewards for the entire party. They advised players to be cautious and avoid playing with those engaging in prohibited activities or those suspected of doing so. The company encouraged reporting any observed fraudulent activity during quests.
The new quests will offer cosmetic pendants as rewards, some of which will be available to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheating, as it aims to maintain fairness in the distribution of these rewards.
These Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter located in the Grand Hub in Suja. To unlock the Grand Hub, players must first complete a special tutorial mission. Make sure to head straight to the Grand Hub once Title Update 1 becomes available tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
