EA’s upcoming Star Wars turn-based tactics game is set to make its debut at Star Wars Celebration 2025, offering fans their first official glimpse into the project. Initially announced in early 2022, the game is being developed by Bit Reactor—a studio founded by former Firaxis Games veterans known for their work on the XCOM franchise. Bit Reactor has collaborated closely with Respawn Entertainment, the team behind the Star Wars Jedi series, to bring this new strategic vision to life.
The reveal will take place on April 19 during a live panel featuring key members of the development team from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games. The session promises exclusive insights directly from the creators shaping this exciting new addition to the Star Wars gaming universe.

Details about the game remain scarce—its exact setting within the Star Wars timeline and full gameplay mechanics have yet to be disclosed. However, given its development pedigree, it's widely speculated that the game will feature a strategic, squad-based tactical experience reminiscent of XCOM, infused with iconic Star Wars lore and characters.
Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment continues work on the third installment of its acclaimed Star Wars Jedi saga. There are no current plans for that title to appear at this year’s Celebration. Additionally, EA’s internal restructuring in previous years led to the cancellation of several Star Wars projects, including a previously rumored Mandalorian-led FPS and a now-scrapped multiplayer shooter currently in incubation.
Beyond gaming, Star Wars Celebration 2025 will also feature exclusive reveals from Lucasfilm, including a sneak peek at The Mandalorian & Grogu film slated for May 2026, as well as the premiere of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
