The wait is finally over for Android players of *Sid Meier’s Civilization VI*. Aspyr has announced a major update set to launch on June 12th, bringing the Android version up to speed with its PC and console counterparts. This long-awaited update not only introduces new gameplay elements but also enhances overall performance, offering a more seamless and immersive experience for mobile strategy fans.

What's New in the June 12th Update?

The update delivers a wealth of content that Android users have been missing. Three brand-new units make their debut: the Trebuchet, which fills the strategic gap between Catapults and Bombards; the Man-at-Arms, offering a stronger melee presence during the Medieval era; and the Line Infantry, bridging the transition from Musketmen to modern Infantry units. These additions refine combat progression and provide deeper tactical choices throughout your campaign.

In addition to new units, four fresh maps are now available. Players can enjoy expansive gameplay on a large-scale Mediterranean map and a detailed Earth map, both featuring variants that start your civilization at its historical capital. For those who enjoy experimental gameplay, two popular modes—Tech and Civic Shuffle and Barbarian Clans—are now accessible on Android, adding variety and unpredictability to each session.

Enhanced Features and Improvements

This update also includes several highly requested features. The Natural Wonder Picker and City-State Picker allow for greater customization during world generation. Additionally, the Leader Selection Pool expands your options, including the inclusion of Julius Caesar as a playable leader. Alongside these enhancements, over 50 bugs will be resolved, and multiplayer stability and performance receive significant improvements.

New Expansion Passes Coming Soon

Starting June 12th, Android players will also gain access to two major expansion passes for the first time:

  • New Frontier Pass ($29.99): Brings eight new civilizations, nine leaders, and six innovative game modes to expand your strategic depth.
  • Leader Pass ($19.99): Adds 12 new leaders and alternate versions of beloved rulers, giving fans more ways to shape their empire.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just getting started, this update ensures that Android users can now enjoy the full breadth of *Civilization VI* right from their mobile devices. With improved performance, expanded content, and exciting new gameplay mechanics, June 12th marks a major milestone for mobile strategy gaming.
