Here's a detailed guide on how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of different sizes within the game.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, *Fields of Mistria* players can discover Essence Stones within chests scattered throughout the mines. My first encounter with these stones was while searching for items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but keep in mind that these chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious, though; some chests might be mimics that can harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While smaller stones are more common, diligent exploration can lead you to larger deposits. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery, which you can build within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery, a new addition to *Fields of Mistria* introduced in the March 2025 update. This facility becomes part of a new story quest where Adeline enlists your help, along with Olric and Errol, to construct it within the mines.

To build the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials required varies with the size of the stone, as detailed in the table below:

The Stone Refinery isn't just for Essence Stones; it's also a versatile hub for crafting common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it invaluable for various projects in Mistria.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a longer-lasting charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended duration.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue ensures all animals are automatically petted each day, provided an Essence Stone is powering it. You can find this statue in a hidden cave near Errol's house in the Narrows, accessible by using the Dragon's Breath spell. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues as needed.

The sprinkler mechanic, on the other hand, is activated by the Water Sprite Statue. Place this anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius, as long as it's powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more of these statues to cover larger areas of your farm. The statue and its crafting scroll are located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Use Dragon's Breath to access the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with updates from NPC Studio, expect Essence Stones to play an increasingly significant role in the game.
