The eagerly awaited crossover between Five Nights at Freddy’s and Dead by Daylight is on the horizon, but developer Behaviour Interactive isn't stopping there. In a recent chat with IGN, the team behind the popular asymmetrical horror game revealed their ongoing quest to expand their roster of horror icons. While they're always brainstorming new additions, some team members have their hearts set on specific figures.
Killer Designer and horror aficionado Jason Guzzo, who has previously brought iconic Killers like Chucky, Dracula, and Springtrap into the game, expressed his fervent desire to include The Thing in Dead by Daylight. Despite no official talks happening at higher levels, Guzzo remains passionate about this project. "As far as I know, it’s not something that is being discussed above me, but my dream – and probably my favorite horror movie – is the obvious one: The Thing,” Guzzo said. “I would love to get The Thing into [Dead by Daylight]. I have been here for two and a half years, and I have been on a crusade to figure out how to get The Thing into Dead by Daylight.” He acknowledges the potential design challenges of integrating a mimic murderer into the game but remains determined to make it happen.

Creative Director Dave Richard shared that discussions about dream Killers are a regular occurrence at Behaviour. While names like Pennywise are considered for their potential impact, Richard's ambitions don't stop there. "There are other kings of horror that would be amazing to have,” Richard tells us. “You could guess any one of them, I’m thinking. Frankly, I just want to collect them all.” He also playfully mentioned less conventional choices like Stephen King’s Cujo and Christine, indicating a willingness to explore unique additions to the game’s roster.
As Dead by Daylight approaches its ninth anniversary, the game continues to evolve. The Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter, set to launch on June 17, will introduce Springtrap and a new pizzeria map.
